NSClient++ and passive checks
Hi, we are trying ti use the NSClient++ to monitor some "out-our-network" windows 2003 servers, so we need passive checks to work.
We modified the nsc.ini filling up what is needed : password, encryption and so on... To verify, launched the nsclient with the -test parameter here we have :
C:\Program Files\NSClient++>"nsclient++.exe" -test Launching test mode - client mode l \NSClient++.cpp(370) Attempting to start NSCLient++ - 0.3.5.2 2008-09-24 d \NSClient++.cpp(773) Loading plugin: CheckDisk... d \NSClient++.cpp(773) Loading plugin: CheckSystem... d \NSClient++.cpp(773) Loading plugin: NSCAAgent... d \PDHCollector.cpp(66) Autodetected w2k or later, using w2k PDH counters. d \NSCAThread.cpp(46) Autodetected hostname: SERVEUR-APP1 d \PDHCollector.cpp(103) Using index to retrive counternames l \NSClient++.cpp(476) NSCLient++ - 0.3.5.2 2008-09-24 Started! d \NSCAThread.cpp(115) Drifting: 0 l \NSClient++.cpp(278) Using settings from: INI-file d \PDHCollector.cpp(123) Found countername: CPU: \Processeur(_total)\% Temps processeur l \NSClient++.cpp(279) Enter command to inject or exit to terminate... d \PDHCollector.cpp(124) Found countername: UPTIME: \SystÞme\Temps d'activitÚ sy stÞme d \PDHCollector.cpp(125) Found countername: MCL: \MÚmoire\Limite de mÚmoire d ÚdiÚe d \PDHCollector.cpp(126) Found countername: MCB: \MÚmoire\Octets validÚs d \NSClient++.cpp(910) Injecting: check_ok: l \NSClient++.cpp(961) No handler for command: 'check_ok' l \NSCHelper.cpp(238) No handler for command 'check_ok'. d \NSClient++.cpp(910) Injecting: CheckUpTime: ShowAll d \checkHelpers.hpp(725) Missing bounds for maxmin-bounds check: uptime d \NSClient++.cpp(946) Injected Result: OK 'OK: uptime: 17:46' d \NSClient++.cpp(947) Injected Performance Result: '' d \NSClient++.cpp(910) Injecting: CheckVersion: l \NSClient++.cpp(961) No handler for command: 'CheckVersion' l \NSCHelper.cpp(238) No handler for command 'CheckVersion'. d \NSClient++.cpp(910) Injecting: checkCPU: warn=80, crit=90, time=20m, time=10s , time=4 d \NSClient++.cpp(946) Injected Result: OK 'OK CPU Load ok.' d \NSClient++.cpp(947) Injected Performance Result: ''20m'=0%;80;90; '10s'=0%;80 ;90; '4'=0%;80;90; ' d \NSClient++.cpp(910) Injecting: CheckDriveSize: MinWarn=90%, MinCrit=5%, Check All, FilterType=FIXED d \NSClient++.cpp(946) Injected Result: WARNING 'WARNING: C:\: Total: 9.77G - Us ed: 8.98G (91%) - Free: 801M (9%) < warning' d \NSClient++.cpp(947) Injected Performance Result: ''C:\'=9%;90;5; ' d \NSClient++.cpp(910) Injecting: checkMem: MaxWarn=75%, MaxCrit=90%, ShowAll, t ype=physical d \NSClient++.cpp(946) Injected Result: OK 'OK: physical memory: 401M' d \NSClient++.cpp(947) Injected Performance Result: ''physical memory'=48%;75;90 ; ' d \NSClient++.cpp(910) Injecting: checkServiceState: CheckAll, exclude=wampmysql d, exclude=MpfService d \NSClient++.cpp(946) Injected Result: CRITICAL 'CRITICAL: NSClientpp: stopped (critical)' d \NSClient++.cpp(947) Injected Performance Result: '' d \NSCAThread.cpp(166) Looked up 10.0.4.13 to 10.0.4.13
BUT, the nagios server does not recieve anything when I launch the nsclient++ with the start option. NSCA is working fine with the linux boxes.
Can you please help us to find -where- is the problem ? Regards, Marc.
